Saw your fic, "The Moment it Began" over at fanfiction.net and had to come over here and comment! I had been wanting to read a sort of "what if" alternate universe kind of Snape/Lily fic, and I was glad to find it! I also like that he truly struggles to be good, and that he still remains Snape. I'm liking the recent chapters ... especially that James seems to finally be growing up (something that clearly happened, but the details of which weren't revealed by Rowling) and is even being nice (in a way) to Snape. (James' dislike of Snape started out as the old Gryffindor/Slytherin prejudice, really, not from any true hate for Snape as a person, I think, as evidenced from when they meet on the train and James doesn't like Snape because Snape wants to be in Slytherin.)

This is a lovely piece to illustrate your fic, btw! I really, really love their faces!

Anyway, I can't wait to read more! Do you have an ending you are working toward, or is the story telling itself to you as you write?

Thank you so much! I'm glad you've been enjoying what you're reading. It may not please everyone, but I'm writing it from my heart, what I feel is right for the story.

Anyway, I do have an ending planned. I had a general idea in mind when I started writing it, like Severus losing his mother. Things are pop up along the way, though, so there will no doubt be surprises, even for me! Tobias showing remorse, for example, isn't something I had initially planned on doing.

Thanks! I think most people write that way, with a plan for the ending and interesting stuff happens along the way.

Read the latest, Chapter 32. I was glad that happened after Chapter 31's events. I'm on pins and needles to find out what happens next. Poor conflicted Sev ...

I really do hope they end up together in your fic, cause Sev needs to believe in himself, somehow find a way to at least somewhat heal his past, and to have the love of Lily.
